The Sensex closed at 52,474.76, up 174.29 points, or 0.33%, while the Nifty was at 15,799.35, up 61.60 points, or 0.39%. Auto, IT, metal and pharma stocks led Nifty gains. Among broader indices, BSE midcap and smallcap indices closed 0.14% and 0.40% higher, respectively. The Nifty midcap100 and smallcap100 closed 0.22% and 0.54%, higher, respectively. On the 30-share Sensex, Dr Reddy’s, PowerGrid, TCS, and 12 other stocks closed in green, while L&T, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finserv, and 12 other stocks closed in red.
